2016 Holiday Celebration
On December 5, 2016, we gathered at the beautiful home of members Rick and Jen Gardner for our second annual Holiday Celebration. We enjoyed an evening of wine, hors d’oeuvres, French-inspired sweets, camaraderie, and a whole lot of holiday spirit.
We were able to admire the Gardners’ 7 (yes, 7!) Christmas trees, and to hear member Meg Segal share her experiences during her recent visit to the Chateau with husband Matt.
Meg highlighted the significance of the Chateau to French history (one of only three seats of royal government, a Second Empire jewel), and to world and military history, as both having been witness to one of the seminal events of the 20th Century – the signing of the Armistice that ended WWI. And during their tour of the Chateau, they were able to see the Emperor’s Library, the restoration of which our donations are being applied. It made everyone want to book a trip soon!
