Meeting with the French Consulate’s Cultural AttachÇ

On January 14th, Patty Briguglio, our Committee Chair, and Wendy Burden, Vice-Chair, met with Alexandre Durand, the Cultural AttachÇ to the French Consulate in Atlanta https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexandre-durand-a0126820/en. They discussed several possible upcoming events and initiatives involving the arts, which we hope to share in the near future.

NC Symphony’s All-French Concerts This February

The NC Symphony will feature a program of works by world-renowned French composers this February 26th and 27th at Meymandi Concert Hall at 8:00PM. The featured composers are Claude Debussy, Cesar Franck, and Camille Saint-Saëns.

Raleigh Sister City News

The year 2016 is the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of the Raleigh Sister Cities Association. As you’re likely aware, Compiegne is one of Raleigh’s Sister Cities. To commemorate this milestone, several events and celebrations are planned during the year – stay tuned for more information!

NCSU Brings French Film Festival to Campus

North Carolina State University has been showcasing several highly acclaimed contemporary and classic French films at its inaugural Tournees Film Festival. The university was selected by the festival’s Grant Committee to host the program during its 20th anniversary celebration. Here are the remaining films on the schedule:

  • January 28 – Diplomatie/Diplomacy
  • February 4 – Timbuktu
  • February 11 – Bande de Filles/Girlhood

These films will be shown at the NCSU’s Campus Cinema in the Witherspoon Student Center and are free and open to the public. More information is available here.
